Yes, all our staff undergoes CORI background check, Nurse Registry check, Office of the Inspector General Exclusions List, and Social Security verification. We also conduct Successful reference checks and Successful completion of paid Nurta Home Healthcare orientation training. Only when each candidate has met our highest standards do we place them on assignment.

All our caregiver undergoes Alzheimer’s and Dementia training during the hiring process and continuously during their employment with us.

All staff are also required to attend ongoing training held throughout the year to meet with regulations and procedures and to ensure our staff provide the best care possible.

No, this is a violation of HIPPA law, we do share any client information with anyone outside your care team.

We will try to find another caregiver to cover the shift, but before that, we must orient the caregiver to your specific needs and to your plan of care before he or she can begin their shift.

We are flexible with hours, our service hour ranges from 2 hours to 24 hours, 7 days a week.

Each of the care level/services can be:
Hourly care (minimum of four hours)
Live-Ins care
(Short Term/Overnight)
Block hours of 8, 10, and 12

Our live-in care is available for our client, the caregiver will work for 10-12 hours a day while the client is awake. This service is charged at a flat daily rate depending on the level of care. The caregiver will be oriented to the client’s plan of care. The client is responsible for providing private room for live-in caregivers. The caregiver will stay overnight or short-term with the client usually less than a month, must have time for free time, sleep time, and meals in the privacy at the client’s home.

We are not franchise homecare, we are locally owned and operated. Nurta Home Healthcare is owned by a registered nurse with more than fifteen years of experience in the health care industry, ranging from nursing home, hospital, group home, human services, and home health care.

You are not under any long-term contract with us. our cancellation policy is very simple. Our services can be terminated simply with 24 hours’ notice; no questions asked. Any deposit is applied to the final bill and any balance is refunded.

We charge our clients an extra fee for weekend care. On seven (7) specific holidays each year including New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day, we do charge 1.5 X the regular rate. We have to pay our caregivers who worked on these holidays time and a half (which is 1.5 X their regular pay). Our caregivers do want to spend time with their own families, this is an incentive to encourage them to work on major holidays. Before any of these holidays, we will reach out to our clients to find out if they want us to provide our services on that day.

We have monitored this through our Quality assurance (QA) program and Continued Follow-Up. We do not just leave after the service starts or after our Home Health Aide or Personal Care Assistant has been placed in the home, Nurta Home Healthcare Coordinators continue to make check-in phone calls and monthly visits to ensure you are satisfied with the care we are providing.

It is possible to hire a caregiver for your family member or yourself. But there are few things to consider, before hiring a private caregiver:

  • Payroll taxes: When you hire caregivers independently you are considered an employer, you will be responsible for paying payroll taxes including Social Security, Medicare, and Unemployment Insurance. Consider federal and state laws when it comes to hiring.
  • License: You are responsible for license verification, even when the caregiver says she or he is a HHA or CNA.
  • Screening/References: You must conduct all the necessary background checks, criminal record checks and employment verifications. Verify that the caregiver is legally authorized to work in the United States of America. Have you screened the caregiver for communicable diseases such as TB.
  • You need a job description and job agreement
  • Quality of Care/Supervision: Who will be responsible for the supervision of the caregiver
  • Injury Insurance and Liability Insurance: if the caregiver gets insured on the job you may be held liable for the damages caused to or by the caregiver.

If you choose to work with an agency you are not the caregiver’s employer. The caregiver employer which is the agency does everything required by law before placing a caregiver in your home. The agency will provide support through experienced professionals who understand all the requirements for providing exceptional in-home care. If the caregiver is sick or request a day off, you will be assured that the agency will find another replacement for you or your loved one. As a home care Agency, Nurta Home Healthcare is the employer of our Caregivers.
